Whistleblower Dr. David Graham to Appear on 'Health Law & Politics' Radio Show

Washington, D.C. (ContentDesk) February 2, 2006 - Health Law and Politics radio talk show host Jonathan Emord announced today that Whistleblower Dr. David Graham (FDA Drug Safety reviewer) who testified before Senator Charles Grassley's committee in the Senate concerning FDA's approval of unsafe drugs will appear live on the program Saturday, February 4, 2006, along with Mark Cohen, Dr. Graham's attorney, from the Government Accountability Project. They will discuss FDA's approval of unsafe drugs, including Vioxx, corruption within the agency, undue influence by major drug companies over FDA decisionmaking, and the Grassley-Dodd bill now pending in Congress.

Emord, the only attorney in history who has defeated the Food and Drug Administration in federal court on six separate occasions, documents on his show instances of FDA and FTC abuse of power that sacrifice life or liberty.
He interviews experts in the fields of health and medicine, litigants in cases against the FDA and the FTC, members of Congress and other government decisionmakers, and victims of FDA denial of access to medical treatment or health information.
He also provides his own expert commentary on the legal and health implications of the governments actions.
We reveal the cost in human life, health, and liberty of political decisions that protect drug companies from competition at the expense of consumers, Emord said.
We show how FDA and FTC fail to follow the rule of law, harm those they were designed to help, and ignore the will of Congress, the Courts, and the American people, he said.????????????
The program airs every Saturday from 4PM to 6PM EST via radio stations nationwide and via web radio over the TalkStar Radio Network (www.talkstarradio.com).

The program is rebroadcast each Sunday on the TalkStar Radio Network from 2PM to 4PM EST. Emord addresses listeners questions via email and/or by calling in live 877-528-TALK (8255) Toll Free..

DoctorPricing.com Makes Price Transparency Available to Health Care Consumers

Overland Park, KS (ContentDesk) August 7, 2006 -- As health savings accounts continue to become a preferred option for health care consumers, a great need is being created for transparency in pricing within the health care industry.
With over 4 million health care consumers taking charge of their own health care costs via HSAs, and even more consumers remaining uninsured -- the number of patients who are price sensitive to routine medical procedures is growing exponentially. In an effort to address the needs of those consumers, a team of health care industry, insurance, and technology professionals have created a solution -- DoctorPricing.com (http://www.doctorpricing.com).We know that the greatest drawback to the consumer driven health care movement is that consumers have no way to comparison shop for routine health care procedures, said, William Short, President. DoctorPricing.com is the final piece of the puzzle...

Brain Injury Rehabilitation

In the United States alone, over 1 million people each year suffer a traumatic brain injury. Some of the injuries are mild, but others require medical attention and rehabilitation. In recent years, many rehabilitation clinics and day care centers have appeared that focus on giving TBI patients full attention 24 hours a day.

In some cases, rehabilitation can be simple. Patients are told what they must do, what medicine must they take, and what exercises they should do by their doctor.

By following this advice to the letter, they can get back to being 100%. In some cases, rehabilitation after a traumatic brain injury is a long process that takes a lot of work and willpower to accomplish.

The patient has to be analyzed before entering a rehabilitation clinic.
This is done by several tests performed by specialized medical crew. These tests have to be completed so that a complete and specialized rehabilitation program can be set up for...

Chocolate and heart health ? fact or fallacy?

Wouldn't it be wonderful if chocolate and heart health went hand in hand. However, there is so much information lately about the health benefits of chocolate that it is only natural that people get confused. It is true, that if people only ate pure cocoa, then there might be heart health benefits. The problem is that most people eat processed chocolate bars containing sugar, corn syrup, hydrogenated oils, dairy cream not to mention other "baddies" contained in some of those tasty fillings. Some of these added ingredients can clog up arteries and create havoc to your waistline. That said, you might be surprised to find out that chocolate isn't all that bad. In fact, the fat content in chocolate, contained in premium grade dark chocolate, is comprised of equal amounts of oleic acid (a heart-healthy monounsaturated fat also found in olive oil), stearic and palmitic acids.

Stearic and palmitic acids are forms of saturated fat ? not so good. Saturated fats are linked to increases in...

Fashion, Is It Still Fashionable?

What's the skinny on fashion these days? And anyway, what really is fashion? Is it what happens to be in style this season? Is it the short skirts, the hip boots, or the funny little hats? Let's take off the fake, and look at what fashion really means to most people.
Fashion is as judgmental as our list of desired characteristics in a mate. What one person purports to be the most necessary piece in the wardrobe, might not be deemed worthy for a foot rug by another. Fashion is one of...

Mortgages ? Get Fixed Up Before The Crash

They say trends will always come back around. What was fashionable in the 70s will always seem to pop up on the shelves 30 odd years later. Unfortunately, there are some trends we wish would never show their faces again ? the 1980's property crash for one. Yet there has been some warning that we may be heading for another one.

It has been recorded that house prices have been dropping drastically over the last three years. With the effects being disastrous, more and more people...
